Bojan obtained a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in geology at the Faculty for Natural Sciences and Engineering at the University of Ljubljana.
He continued with his PhD study at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School in the field of Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies where he obtained extensive knowledge both in the field of scanning (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), specializing in the in-situ liquid cell transmission electron microscopy.
He further extended his knowledge in material science with studies at Sabanci University, Turkey, in nuclear technology at the Nuclear training center in Ljubljana, and Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI).

Since 2020 he is a Nanocenter team member responsible for the successful execution of both scientific and industrial research projects with the primary focus on the field of the focused ion beam (FIB) technique.

After work, Bojan is one of the leading Slovenian experts in the field of meteoritics. His hobbies include mountain running, ultramarathon running, mountaineering, and ski touring. He is an ex-member of the Slovenian national mountain running team: during his sports career, he has represented his country in both European and World mountain running championships.
