The 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to three distinguished scientists for their groundbreaking contributions to the field of quantum mechanics:

John Clarke (UK/USA), Michel H. Devoret (France/USA), and John M. Martinis (USA).

Their pioneering work has advanced our understanding of quantum systems, paving the way for future technologies such as quantum computers and ultra-sensitive measurement devices.

Prof. Michel H. Devoret recently visited the Nanocenter, where we toured the laboratories and clean rooms and discussed the further development of superconducting qubits. These are the fundamental building blocks of superconducting quantum computers and also a subject of research at the Nanocenter.

Nanocenter congratulates this year’s laureates and joins the global scientific community in celebrating their outstanding achievements that continue to push the boundaries of knowledge.
