On Monday, June 10, 2024, the first international summer school on quantum technologies, the “Ljubljana PhD School on Quantum Physics – 2024,” commenced. The event was officially opened by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Dr. Igor Papič.
The summer school, taking place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana and the Jožef Stefan Institute, is organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana, the Jožef Stefan Institute, and the Nanocenter. This represents a significant step in advancing quantum technologies, which are expected to play a crucial role in improving the quality of life in the future.
On this occasion, Minister Dr. Papič expressed his satisfaction that young researchers and PhD students will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the field of quantum technologies. He emphasized the importance of Slovenia’s continued successful work in this area and thanked the organizers for their contribution to educating new experts.
